Double Chocolate Walnut Brownies
| Servings: 2 dozen bars | Prep. Time: N/A |
The real fudgy kind with chocolate chips and walnuts pressed onto the top for a baked-on crunchy topping.
Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped walnuts
1 pkg (6 oz) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Directions
Melt butter and chocolate in a medium size saucepan over moderate heat. Remove from heat. Beat in sugar gradually with a wooden spoon until thoroughly combined. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; stir in vanilla. Stir in flour until thoroughly combined. Stir in 1 cup of the walnuts.
Spread into a greased 13x9x2" pan.
Combine remaining 1/2 cup walnuts with chocolate pieces; sprinkle over top of cookie mixture, pressing down lightly.
Bake in a 350 oven for 35 minutes, or until top springs back when lightly pressed with fingertip.
Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
Cut into bars.
