Elizabeth, My Number One Grandchild
You can find a photo of Elizabeth, standing on my dishwasher door, helping me, in the family section. She is the first of nine grandchildren, 5 girls, 4 boys.
The next picture you will see of her will be her wedding to Craig, and their honeymoon to London and Ireland. She's marrying a McCarthy, don't you know!
The Original Foster Family Farm House in Tennessee
This two story log house was built in 1852. We restored it a few years ago. There were 7 members of one family that lived here and they had no electricity, no inside water, or bathroom. The final member lived there until 1940.
The house sits on a hill overlooking fields, woods and springs. It is truly a beautiful piece of this great country.
Entire Foster Family September, 2010
Our twin daughters, our son, his wife Kris, and all our grandchildren are in this picture with John and I. Five granddaughters and 4 grandsons. And, I am like all grandmothers, Mine are the prettiest and smartest!
We are blessed to have such a close knit family. They are our pride and joy!
Nana B and "Jessie Pooh"
My granddaughter and I love to spend time together in the kitchen, making memories as well as good food! Jessie is almost grown now but, still loves to be in the kitchen with me. She learned how to completely bake a pecan pie just before Christmas.
Granddaughters and I painting
These are my son's three daughters. Along with cooking, I also like to share my other favorite hobbies with them, like painting. You never know, one of them might be the next Monet or Picasso! We enjoy spending time together creating art, whether in the kitchen or elsewhere.
Orient Express
We boarded in Rome and went through Paris to London - overnight. This was one of the sales trips we won. The whole train was Pontiac dealers from across the country. It was fabulous! We had compartments with elegant little bathrooms, and little china sinks. We were all friends and spent the evening around the piano singing, and drinking french wine. And, the food was again, gourmet. Afraid I would miss something, I woke John early and we bathed and dressed so we could open our curtains and see the countryside. It looked like the back side of towns in America! (We went back to sleep.)
Monaco Mediterranean Cruise
This is one of the little harbors we would go into for lunch. The ship would anchor off, and we would go in on the launch. They were very pretty little villages with cafe's by the water. The food was to die for!
Hand made baby clothes, lace tablecloths and handkerchiefs. Beautiful workmanship. I brought a lot of gifts home from there.
Set for Foster Pontiac commercial
John and I made many commercials during our career as owners of an automobile dealership in Milwaukee. We tried to make them as creative as possible, always a contest between "John's team and Betty's team," and in one of our commercials I got to be in a B-plane! I think I won the contest then!
Truck
We bought this antique fire truck and drove in parades and participated in events to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy. One of our grandsons, Christopher, has Duchenne MD.
Here we are at the MD Telethon at TV6 in Milwaukee. We gave rides, answered phones, did what ever we could to help. Several employees and family members were there, too.
Ritz - Escoffier Cooking School, Paris
Boy, was this a trip! My good friend, Connie, and I went to the Ritz Escoffier Cooking School at the Ritz Hotel in Paris, compliments of Chrysler. (We won the sales contest, and John did not want to take a trip to cook.)
We toured Giverny, Monet's Garden, and saw the sights of Paris. We cooked in the mornings, gourmet foods, french wines, and we toured in the afternoons. The museums were something to see, and the food was wonderful!
