Veal Loaf With Italian Sausages

   This is a veal meatloaf with Italian sausage cooked in the middle.  It is an elegant buffet dish to be served hot or cold.

 



Ingredients

   2  pounds veal, ground

   1  pound ground pork

   1  cup fine dry bredcrumbs

   2  garlic cloves, chopped

1/4  cup grated onion

1/2  cup chopped parsley

   2  eggs, slightly beaten

   1  tsp. crumbled dried thyme

   1  tsp. salt

   1  tsp. pepper

Bacon slices

   6  Italian sausages, boiled for 10 minutes, skins removed

 

 

 



Directions

   In a large bowl, mix ground meats with remaining ingredients.

   Arrange half of the meat mixture in a baking dish on bacon slices.

   Put the skinned sausages on top of this layer.

   Top with sausages and press down.

   Place more bacon slices on top and bake at 350 F. for 1 1/2 hours.

   Drain grease from top; serve with creamy mashed potatoes.
