Gooey Butter Bars
Servings: 24 bars | Prep. Time: N/A |
The more gooey the better!
Ingredients
1 17oz package pound cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
4 eggs, divided
1 package (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 lb powdered sugar, divided
1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
In mixing bowl, combine cake mix, butter, and 2 of the eggs. Beat 1 minute. Spread over bottom of greased 13"x9" pan.
In another bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy, about 5 minutes. Beat in remaining eggs, 1 at a time. Add vanilla and all but 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar. Beat just until blended, about 1 minute. Pour batter evenly over crust. Sprinkle chopped nuts and reserved sugar over top.
Bake at 350 degrees 35 to 45 minutes, until cake pulls away from pan sides.
Cool on rack and cut into squares approximately 2 1/4 inches by 2 1/4 inches.
