Money Saving Tip-Plan Menus Before Shopping
February 2010Write a detailed list of the weeks menu. This way, ingredients can be used for more that one meal, and leftovers used in the next meals. Buy in bulk when items are on sale. Example: Buy 4 pounds of ground beef, cook it a one time, and freeze in individual packages to be used at different times.
Check the meat to see if they have anything reduced. I bought 2 roasting hens last month that were half price. The last date to be sold still gives 3 days or so where they are still good. You can tell by looking.
