Cruciferous Tip- Yes, Cruciferous
February 2010is a funny name, but Cauliflower, Broccoli, Cabbage, Collards, Kale, Radishes, Brussels Sprouts and Turnips are no laughing matter. These wonders, help the body produce enzymes that flush toxins out of our system and help prevent cancer. They are also rich in vitamins and minerals!
When you boil brussel sprouts in water they are strong smelling and tasting. Try baking alongside a chicken or roast. Roll them in butter, Dijon mustard and salt them. Roast covered for the first 45 minutes, then uncover for the last 15 minutes. They are soft, sweet and really delicious! The mustard forms a crust that browns and everyone will love them!
